This site stores very little in your browser, and nothing that follows you around the internet. Here is the complete list.

Things the site itself stores

kb-consent (localStorage): your answer to the cookie banner ("accepted" or "declined"), so we do not ask you on every visit.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics. Nothing loads if you decline, and the site works exactly the same either way.

Google Analytics. It sets cookies, named_ga and _ga_<id>, which Google uses to tell one visit from another. They last up to two years. We have turned off ad personalisation and Google Signals, and we shorten your IP address before it is stored, so it is being used to count visits rather than to advertise to you. Google is a separate data controller for what it collects; their terms are at policies.google.com/privacy.

This is why the banner asks before anything loads rather than after. A cookie that identifies you needs your permission first, not a note afterwards.

Changing your mind

You can clear any of this at any time through your browser's settings (clear site data for this website). If you want analytics off after accepting, clearing site data resets the banner and we will ask again. Questions? Email hello@kongwabakes.com.
